I like reading books about war dogs, shipwrecks, and lady aviators.
Reading progress update: I've read 157 out of 308 pages.
I started reading The Living this morning and I am plowing through it. I can't put it down. It's terrifying and exciting and gripping... and the narrator is a PoC!! That's extra exciting, because it seems that whitewashing is prevalent in popular fiction. I love Shy's voice--aside from his frustrating tendency to refer to women as "females." Matt de la Pena's writing style flows artfully, bringing vibrant life into all the characters, while addressing racism and classism with a deft hand. I'm halfway through but I already want to recommend it to everyone!
