I like reading books about war dogs, shipwrecks, and lady aviators.
Yesterday I was expressing to a friend that I've always struggled to like books that I really want to like. Jane Eyre? Ugh. Wuthering Heights? Nope. I really want to like these classic novels written by women but I just don't.
My friend said, "But Lydia, I don't know why you would like them. Those sweeping romantic novels are just... the opposite of you."
TOO TRUE. Many things I may be, but a sweeping romantic, I am not. It's good to have friends who know you better than you know yourself.
