I like reading books about war dogs, shipwrecks, and lady aviators.
One of my goals for 2016 is to seriously pare down my collection of books. I know, I know, it's a blasphemous thing to say on a site for book lovers. It's taken me a loooong time to feel comfortable with letting my books go, but I want to travel light for awhile. I've been rereading some old copies and then saying goodbye and passing them on to friends. It's actually made me feel good to give these books new life and new enjoyment.
Speak is one I've read countless times. I remember sneaking it from my older sister's room when I was too young to really understand it. I read it over and over in my teen years and in my early college years, too. I remember this book being one of the first, and definitely the most eloquent, to tackle its heavy subject matter. After this most recent re-read, I feel ready to part ways with it, and I hope my copy finds its way to someone who really needs it.
